Fasting and Prayer

Ezra 8
Fasting and Prayer are the siamese twins of faith.
Prayer brings God's focus on us
Fasting brings our attention on God

There needs to be a set aside time to go back to the
newness and freshness to refocus our attention and positions us
in a place where I spirit man is awake. Discernment and understanding
and true sensitivity because our spirit is alert.

Let a man examine himself. God's desire is for people... He loves people.
The fast should enable you to take on the nature and passion of God.

Fasting can do two things:
It brings out what is in the heart already: Good and bad
It potentially positions us to take on God's nature. according to how we examine our heart.

Humble yourself and pray, if you want to see real results from a fast.
Otherwise a fast will augment the works of the flesh, instead of magnifying
the sensitivity to the Spirit of God to take on His nature.

Fasting that brings results are only actions the issue from proper perspective
which leads to right ordered faith which produces prioritized living and genuine love for people. Fasting is a product of the lifestyle, not a vehicle that takes you to a place other than what you have hidden in your heart already.

Fasting can expose to you what is in your heart. The arrogant person may ignore
and assume a religious posture. Taking on a form of godliness, but denying its true
power.

It is naive to think that a fast without a preceding choice for God can do anything
in the life of the person or persons fasting.

Fasting has great potential in the life of a believer. And there's the key... the believer.
Examine your heart. Examine your motives before you enter a fast.
Enter the fast with the right heart, expecting that God will show you yourself as
you see more of Him. To take on His nature and less of your own selfish nature.

Think about it.
